Job Description: Electronic Maintenance Technicians support the operation and maintenance of critical radar and communication systems at remote Arctic radar sites across Northern Canada. Working in a fly-in/fly-out camp environment, you’ll perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on complex electronic systems while contributing to national defense infrastructure.
This is a permanent, unionized rotational role with full accommodations, meals, and travel provided. The position offers long-term stability with extended time off between rotations.
Key responsibilities include:
Performing scheduled and corrective maintenance on radar, satellite communication, and electronic systems
Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electronic equipment
Conducting verification procedures to ensure compliance with implementation instructions
Updating technical documentation, drawings, audit records, and modification logs
Coordinating activities with logistics teams and operations control centres
Maintaining clean and organized work areas and managing equipment returns
Supporting unplanned or transient duties as assigned
Working collaboratively with remote site teams and support centres
Complying with all safety standards and site protocols
Deploying to Long Range and Short Range Radar sites as operationally required
Qualifications & experience:
Electronics Technician Diploma (or Canadian military equivalent)
Minimum 2 years of hands-on field experience maintaining electronic systems
Proficiency with electronic test and repair equipment
Strong knowledge of data communications, satellite systems, and monitoring systems
Computer proficiency (Word, Excel)
Ability to work in extreme weather and physically demanding conditions
Ability to live and work in remote camp environments on a rotational basis
Experience working in remote camps (asset)
Willingness to work in a cross-cultural environment
Employment type: Permanent, full-time (unionized) Compensation: $38.95–$48.68 per hour (overtime paid at 1.5x)
