Job Description:
The Safety Trainer plays a key role in promoting a strong health and safety culture across mining operations in Saskatchewan. This fly-in / fly-out position supports occupational risk control by leading safety training initiatives, coordinating training requirements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Working closely with site safety teams, the Safety Trainer supports onboarding, refresher training, task-specific instruction, and continuous improvement initiatives in active mining environments.
This is a fly-in / fly-out, camp-based role with rotational scheduling.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering in-house safety training for new and existing employees
Developing and maintaining safety training programs, materials, and records
Training employees on safe operation and inspection of underground mining equipment
Conducting job observations and competency verifications
Auditing training requirements to meet site and regulatory standards
Completing site inspections to promote a safe work environment
Supporting incident investigations in collaboration with safety advisors
Promoting continuous improvement and adherence to safety policies
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of training experience in a mining environment
Strong organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of mining tools, equipment, and materials
Ability to use Microsoft Office 365 and related technology
Train-the-trainer certifications (fall arrest, confined space, fit testing) considered an asset
