Job Description:
Thyssen Mining Inc. is seeking Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics for a fly-in/fly-out project in Ontario. This role involves installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, including pumps, fans, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, generators, and more. The position requires adherence to procedures, safe operation of hoisting and lifting devices, testing and adjustment of equipment, and fostering a safe work culture.
Key responsibilities include:
Installing, dismantling, maintaining, and moving industrial machinery
Operating cranes, jacks, and other lifting devices for machinery positioning
Preparing and following work procedures
Testing and adjusting repaired equipment to meet manufacturer specifications
Diagnosing faults and performing necessary repairs or replacements
Performing routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of equipment
Tracking and sourcing parts, and servicing attachments and working tools
Leading and promoting a safe work environment
Qualifications:
Interprovincial Red Seal Ticket
Experience with underground mining equipment is an asset but not required
