Job Description
FIFO Shift Schedule: 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off
Job Description:
Heavy Equipment Operators with Arctic ice road experience are essential to the construction and maintenance of northern winter road infrastructure. These roles support safe access across ice, land, and lake crossings in extreme Arctic conditions, where precision, judgment, and risk management are critical to operational success.
Working in fully remote camp environments, operators must demonstrate proven experience on seasonal ice roads and the ability to execute safely under rapidly changing conditions. This is not entry-level work—prior Arctic ice road experience is mandatory.
This is a fly-in/fly-out camp-based role in Nunavut with accommodations, meals, and travel provided.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating heavy equipment safely on Arctic ice roads and seasonal crossings
- Supporting construction and ongoing maintenance of winter road infrastructure
- Navigating ice, land, and lake crossings while managing environmental and load risks
- Conducting equipment checks and reporting mechanical or safety issues
- Working rotating shifts, including nights, in remote Arctic conditions
- Adhering strictly to safety, environmental, and operational protocols
- Participating in toolbox meetings and risk assessments
