Job Description:
Redpath Canada Limited is hiring a Shaft Mechanic for the Alamos Shaft Sinking & Headwork Project in Dubreuilville, ON. This camp-based position involves preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel, electrical, hydraulic, and air-operated equipment, including hoists, compressors, drills, mobile equipment, and shaft-specific components. Reporting to the Lead Shaft Mechanic and Shaft Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in keeping shaft operations safe and efficient.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman qualification or trade school/college diploma (preferred)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Ontario Hard Rock Underground Service Type Common Core (or provincial equivalent) – required
- Minimum 3 years’ underground shaft mining experience
- Knowledge of shaft sinking equipment, hoist components, and underground mobile fleets
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic/electrical schematics and use diagnostic software
- Strong skills in servicing diesel engines, powertrain/brake components, and UG mobile equipment
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Respect for cultural differences
