Job Description:
Wesdome Gold Mines is hiring a Senior Geological Technician for the Eagle River Mine near Wawa, ON. This role provides leadership to junior geology staff while supporting production and exploration activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily safety shares, inspections, and audits
- Supervise Production Geological Technicians and Core Loggers
- Provide mentorship and training to Beat Geologists
- Support grade control, exploration, and definition drilling programs
- Assist with Deswik software implementation and 3D modeling
- Monitor core logging, QA/QC assays, and database integrity
- Coordinate with drill contractors and monitor drilling progress
- Verify DeviShot data and ensure contractor adherence to schedules
- Collaborate with Chief Geologist on drill program planning and resource estimation
Requirements:
- B.Sc. in Geology, Geological Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years’ mining geology experience (underground preferred)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Promine, or equivalent modelling software
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
