Job Description:
Wesdome Gold Mines is hiring an OT Network Specialist for the Eagle River Complex near Wawa, ON. Reporting to the Electrical General Foreman, this role is responsible for the performance, reliability, availability, and security of Operational Technology (OT) and SCADA/PLC LAN networks across both underground and surface operations. The position will also support IT/OT integration and cyber security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operation and stability of underground and surface OT networks
- Install, configure, and manage OT network infrastructure, servers, and devices
- Design and configure network hardware including switches, routers, and firewalls
- Maintain documentation, drawings, and standards for OT infrastructure
- Collaborate with IT on security, DMZ administration, and SaaS integration
- Manage backups, recovery, and incident troubleshooting for network systems
- Support automation initiatives and disaster recovery planning
- Provide guidance and coaching to electrical and instrumentation teams
- Manage vendors, service providers, and procurement for OT systems
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and IT/OT audit requirements
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Networking, or equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience in OT infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance
- Professional networking designations (CCNA, CompTIA Network+, IMINS) an asset
- Strong experience with Windows Server environments; Linux knowledge an asset
- Knowledge of OT technologies, SCADA systems, and real-time operating systems an asset
- Experience with disaster recovery planning, implementation, and execution
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
