Job Description:
Wesdome Gold Mines is hiring a Mill Trainer for the Eagle River Complex near Wawa, ON. Reporting to the Health & Safety Supervisor, this role will design, deliver, and monitor training for mill operators in circuits such as crushing, grinding, leaching, dewatering, and Merrill-Crowe Zinc. The Mill Trainer will ensure operators are properly trained, evaluated for competency, and compliant with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver classroom and on-the-job training for mill operators
  • Monitor operator activity and evaluate trainee performance
  • Maintain up-to-date training records for mill personnel
  • Support HS&E programs, inspections, and audits
  • Conduct incident investigations and recommend corrective actions
  • Provide site/mill inductions and act as Designated Employer Representative
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in safety and training programs

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years’ milling experience
  • Experience in health & safety roles; knowledge of Reg. 854 / OH&S Act Ontario
  • Supervisory and “Train the Trainer” experience required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
  • Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of the Merrill-Crowe process an asset
  • Equipment experience (skid steer, loaders, excavators, EWPs, forklifts) preferred
  • Mine Rescue / ERT experience considered an asset

  • Day shift, 7/7 or 14/14 rotation
