Job Description:
Journeyperson Ironworkers play a key role in the installation, fabrication, and erection of structural steel on large-scale industrial projects. Working within Strike’s Project Group, this role supports both live and greenfield environments and requires strong technical trade execution, situational awareness, and disciplined safety performance.
You’ll work closely with crane operators, welders, inspectors, and project teams to ensure steel structures are installed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with site specifications.
This is a fly-in/fly-out camp-based role at the Mount Bracey Compressor Station near Prince George. Meals, accommodations, and travel are provided, along with shift-based travel pay and camp retention incentives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reading blueprints and specifications to lay out work accurately
- Assembling and erecting prefabricated structural steel supports
- Signaling crane operators to position steel units safely and precisely
- Installing hoisting, rigging, and structural steel components
- Positioning steel units, aligning holes, and inserting temporary bolts
- Unloading and installing pre-cast components
- Performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting and securing structural steel in elevated or confined areas
- Working alongside Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspectors
- Conducting repairs, modifications, and retrofits as required
- Monitoring parts usage and reporting material or quality issues
- Demonstrating safe and proper use of hand and power tools
- Participating in issue identification and resolution processes
