Job Description:
Wesdome Gold Mines is hiring a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join the maintenance team at the Eagle River Mine in Wawa, ON. This role ensures smooth and continuous operations of both mobile and stationary mining equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with Wesdome safety policies and industry regulations
- Participate in safety meetings and development of safe work procedures
- Maintain logbooks per operating procedures
- Repair, assemble/disassemble, install, and align equipment (mobile and stationary)
- Perform pre-assembly activities (cleaning, lubricating parts)
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and instructions
- Assemble heavy mobile mining equipment according to engineering drawings
- Conduct preventative maintenance checks
- Safely use tools and equipment
- Provide parts/equipment information for inventory management
Requirements:
- Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ related experience (mining equipment an asset)
- Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems
- Ability to read equipment schematics and diagnose problems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Computer literacy and logbook accuracy
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights
- Mine Common Core certification and Mine Hoist knowledge are assets
- Must be comfortable working underground
