Job Description:
Wesdome Gold Mines is seeking a Geological Database Manager for the Eagle River Complex near Wawa, ON. Reporting to the Director of Geology, this role will ensure the integrity, organization, and reliability of geological and exploration data for both underground and surface operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain exploration and underground databases for Eagle River properties
- Develop SOPs for data capture, validation, organization, and reporting of exploration results
- Oversee QA/QC procedures for exploration data
- Apply expertise across gold and multi-element analytical methods
- Support project geologists with historical data compilation and database integration
- Ensure consistency and data integrity across datasets
- Collaborate with Exploration and Operations teams in both mine and surface environments
Requirements:
- Degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Geochemistry, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in exploration, mine operations, or labs, plus 5 years’ database management
- P.Geo designation (or eligibility) required
- Proficiency with SQL-based systems (e.g., Geotic), MS Access, Excel, Word
- Strong understanding of NI 43-101 reporting requirements and industry best practices
- Knowledge of data security, version control, and archival practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with high-quality outputs
