FIFO Shift Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off (12-hour shifts)
Job Description:
Field Operators support daily production operations for a major oil and gas producer in the Athabasca, Alberta area. Working in a fly-in/fly-out camp environment, you’ll be responsible for operating and monitoring field equipment while supporting safe and efficient heavy oil operations.
This is a camp-based FIFO role with accommodations provided for qualifying candidates. The position offers consistent rotational work and the opportunity to develop technical skills in a dynamic field operations setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating and monitoring field production equipment
- Supporting heavy oil and field operations
- Working with SCADA systems, PCP pumps, and polymer flood processes (where applicable)
- Performing field duties in compliance with safety and operational standards
- Working 12-hour shifts on a 7/7 rotation
- Collaborating effectively with team members while maintaining the ability to work independently
Qualifications & requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy oil and/or field operations (training available for the right candidate)
- Post-secondary education in a petroleum-related field (asset)
- Knowledge of SCADA, PCP pumps, and polymer flood processes (asset)
- Valid oilfield safety tickets including H2S Alive and Standard First Aid
- Clean driver’s abstract and ability to drive off-highway
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Strong attention to detail, disciplined work ethic, and willingness to learn
