Job Description:
Skeena Gold + Silver is seeking a Field Engineer to join the Eskay Creek Revitalization Project in northwest BC. Reporting to the Field Engineering Manager, this role provides critical on-site technical support to the construction team and contractors, ensuring engineering designs are correctly interpreted and executed. The Field Engineer will review drawings, issue RFIs, support planning and scheduling, and contribute to red-line/as-built documentation. This position also assists with quantity tracking, material coordination, and daily reporting while promoting safety, quality, and compliance across all field activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide field engineering support and ensure accurate interpretation of drawings, specifications, and survey data
- Draft and manage RFIs to resolve design or construction queries
- Collaborate with contractors and the Engineer of Record (EOR) on technical issues
- Contribute to planning, forecasting, scheduling, and construction progress reporting
- Participate in site inspections to confirm compliance with design, quality, and safety standards
- Support development of red-line drawings and as-built documentation
- Assist with material orders, quantity tracking, cost control, and change management
- Provide inputs for daily reports capturing activities, progress, and conditions
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mining, Civil, or related discipline)
- P.Eng registration with EGBC preferred
- 2–4 years of mining or heavy construction experience
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Proactive, collaborative team player with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a camp-based environment
