Job Description:
Agnico Eagle is hiring a Counselor, Emergency Measures, for the Meadowbank Complex in Nunavut. This fly-in fly-out role is part of the Health & Safety Department and is responsible for leading emergency response programs, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and strengthening site-wide safety practices.
Key responsibilities include overseeing underground and surface emergency response activities, selecting and training ERT members, organizing yearly mock scenarios and mine rescue competitions, maintaining compliance documentation, inspecting fire detection and suppression systems, coordinating with healthcare providers and mutual aid partners, and ensuring ERP and Crisis Management Plans are current. The role also involves equipment maintenance oversight, payroll documentation for rescue premiums, and input into annual budgets.
Candidates must have WSCC certification for surface and underground mine rescue, along with 5–6 years of experience in a similar role. Strong knowledge of mining practices, safety regulations, and Microsoft Office is required.
