FIFO Shift Schedule: 28 days on / 14 days off
Job Description:
Chefs play a leadership role in delivering high-quality culinary services in a remote camp environment. Working as the head of kitchen operations, you’ll oversee food production, budgeting, staff supervision, and food safety while maintaining strong relationships with on-site clients and guests.
This is a fly-in/fly-out camp role with accommodations and meals provided. You’ll be responsible for ensuring efficient kitchen operations, compliance with safety standards, and consistent meal service in a fast-paced, industrial camp setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing kitchen budgets, inventory, food costs, and profitability
- Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and service
- Ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Enforcing food safety, HACCP, and health code requirements
- Training, supervising, and managing kitchen staff
- Completing daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports
- Communicating effectively with site management, clients, and guests
- Ensuring compliance with company and client safety protocols
- Participating in daily safety meetings and requirements
- Assisting with general camp duties as required
Qualifications & experience:
- Red Seal or Journeyman Chef Certification with 3–5 years’ experience
- Previous remote camp experience (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and camp operations
- Valid Food Safe Level 1 certification
- First Aid certification
- Proficient with computers
- Strong English reading and writing skills
- Ability to work independently in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership, time management, and organizational skills
Employment type: Full-time
Compensation: $25.00–$28.00 per hour (overtime available)
