FIFO Shift Schedule: Rotational (3 weeks on / 1 week off)
Job Description:
Camp Managers are responsible for the overall organization, leadership, and efficient operation of large remote camp facilities. Working in a fly-in/fly-out environment, you’ll oversee daily camp operations, staffing, safety, food services, administration, and client satisfaction while ensuring compliance with LandSea standards, Food Safe, and HACCP requirements.
This is a camp-based FIFO role with meals and accommodations provided. Camp Managers work extended shifts and play a key leadership role in maintaining a safe, well-run, and professional camp environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Operational & Administrative:
- Completing and submitting all required reports, including P&L statements, purchasing, receiving, inventory, commissary, and kitchen reports
- Maintaining accurate camp numbers and staffing levels
- Ensuring completion and accuracy of employee paperwork, incident reports, WCB forms, evaluations, and timesheets
- Overseeing cleaning of accommodations and equipment in accordance with LandSea schedules and Food Safe standards
- Facilitating safety meetings and submitting meeting minutes to Head Office
- Ensuring proper food storage, service, and disposal in compliance with HACCP and Food Safe standards
- Coaching and counseling staff and coordinating with recruitment on disciplinary matters
Financial & Inventory Management:
- Managing food portioning, costs, and inventory in line with client contracts and company policies
- Reviewing and submitting weekly meal sheets and client documentation
- Scheduling and submitting weekly and monthly inventory reports
- Managing meat inventories to align with menu plans and budget controls
Leadership & Client Relations:
- Overseeing all camp operations, including start-ups, shutdowns, administration, maintenance, and budgets
- Maintaining strong working relationships with clients and ensuring overall satisfaction
- Facilitating daily coordination meetings with senior camp staff and chefs
- Supporting training, mentoring, and development of camp employees
- Assisting with incident investigations and corrective actions
Qualifications & experience:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a related field, preferably large camp catering environments
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a managerial role
- Experience with camp management databases and POS systems
- Strong leadership, delegation, and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
Nice-to-have certifications:
- CPR/AED
- CSTS 2020
- WHMIS 2015
- Food Safe Level I or II
- HACCP training
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- Accident Investigation and Health & Safety training
Employment type: Full-time
Compensation: $24.00–$28.00 per hour (overtime available)
Shifts: 10–12 hour shifts (day or evening)
