FIFO Shift Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off (Tuesday fly day, 11-hour shifts; flexibility required for after-hours work)

Job Description:
Orano is accepting resumes to build a talent pool for upcoming Radiation Protection Technician roles at McClean Lake. These positions provide technical support for radiation monitoring, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform radiation measurements as prescribed by procedures and work instructions
  • Record and input data into company databases and logs
  • Conduct area, point, and personnel monitoring; maintain required records
  • Calibrate and maintain radiation detection devices and systems
  • Mentor and train employees in radiation protection programs
  • Liaise with supervisors and workers to ensure corrective actions are taken as required
  • Provide advice and assistance to employees on radiation-related issues
  • Support Operational Excellence (OE) initiatives and contribute to safety culture

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in radiation protection, industrial hygiene, or safety monitoring preferred
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to train, mentor, and communicate effectively with employees
  • Familiarity with calibration and maintenance of radiation monitoring equipment an asset
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work long shifts and adapt to changing operational conditions
