Job Description: Lead Hands provide on-floor leadership and operational oversight for integrity dig projects across Northern Alberta. This role is accountable for directing crews, coordinating daily work activities, and driving continuous improvement across production processes, procedures, and equipment.
Acting as the execution layer between field crews and supervision, the Lead Hand ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project procedures, client requirements, and collective agreement obligations.
This is a fly-in/fly-out role with camp or LOA provided depending on project location.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing daily leadership, direction, and scheduling for assigned labourers
Operating picker trucks (2–5 ton), telehandlers, skid steers, and aerial work platforms
Participating in daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings
Completing Task Hazard Assessments, driver logs, and reviewing job site assessments
Participating in safety investigations and incident reviews
Managing client relationships and communicating work progress and safety performance
Ensuring quality control, inspections, and completion of quality reports and statistics
Identifying and escalating out-of-scope work to the Superintendent
Coordinating movement of equipment and materials between sites
Loading, unloading, and securing construction materials and equipment for transport
Maintaining equipment and tools in safe working condition and reporting deficiencies
Overseeing housekeeping and daily cleanup of work areas
