FIFO Shift Schedule: 15 days on / 13 days off

Job Description:
The Manager, Lab is accountable for full operational ownership of the Assay Laboratory at the Eskay Creek project site. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this role leads laboratory strategy, performance, compliance, and continuous improvement in a remote, camp-based mining environment.

This is a fly-in/fly-out camp position with meals, accommodations, and travel provided. The role plays a critical leadership function during both steady-state operations and upcoming laboratory relocation and expansion, including integration of new analytical modules.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and performance-managing laboratory superintendents and technicians
  • Overseeing day-to-day lab operations to ensure accurate analysis, throughput, and reporting
  • Developing and tracking KPIs to drive productivity, quality, and operational excellence
  • Leading ISO 17025 accreditation and ongoing quality system compliance
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards
  • Managing laboratory budgets, procurement, and inventory controls
  • Championing a proactive safety culture and enforcing SOPs and risk controls
  • Leading laboratory relocation and expansion activities, including new module integration
  • Coordinating with construction, operations, exploration, and external labs/vendors
  • Providing technical oversight of Fire Assay, Wet Chemistry, ICP-OES, Eltra C/S, and related instrumentation
  • Implementing and optimizing laboratory systems such as LIMS and ELN platforms
  • Communicating laboratory performance, risks, and results to senior stakeholders
