FIFO Shift Schedule: 15 days on / 13 days off
Job Description:
Skeena Gold + Silver is seeking a Drill & Blast Lead to support the Eskay Creek Revitalization Project in northwest British Columbia. Reporting to the Superintendent, Mining, this role provides leadership, technical oversight, and continuous improvement for all open-pit drilling and blasting activities. You’ll ensure regulatory compliance, optimize blast performance and costs, and align outcomes with mine production and geotechnical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead drill & blast safety, compliance, and governance
  • Develop and approve blast designs, drilling programs, and SOPs
  • Optimize fragmentation, wall control, vibration, and cost per tonne
  • Integrate geological and geotechnical inputs into blast planning
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and performance KPIs
  • Lead investigations, training, and competency development
  • Drive continuous improvement and technology adoption

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid BC Blasting Ticket and driver’s license
  • 10+ years drill & blast experience in open-pit hard-rock mining
  • 5+ years in senior leadership or superintendent-level roles
  • Strong knowledge of DTH, rotary/top-hammer drilling, initiation systems, and explosives
  • Experience with RC drilling and blasting software
  • Ability to work rotating day/night shifts in remote camp conditions
