FIFO Shift Schedule: Rotational (4 weeks on / 2 weeks off)
Job Description:
Breakfast Cooks / Bakers support daily food service operations at remote work camps throughout British Columbia. This role is responsible for preparing breakfast items based on a predetermined menu while maintaining consistency, speed, and food safety standards. The position also includes housekeeping responsibilities, supporting overall camp cleanliness and guest comfort.
This is a fly-in/fly-out remote camp role with meals and accommodations provided. Camp staff work extended shifts in a structured, safety-focused environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Breakfast Cook / Baker duties:
- Preparing and serving breakfast items in accordance with menu plans
- Maintaining a minimum of 70% scratch baking
- Working with the Head Cook on breakfast menu planning and execution
- Maintaining clean and sanitized kitchen areas in compliance with Food Safe guidelines
- Ensuring groceries are stocked, organized, and rotated using FIFO practices
- Assisting with inventory counts and receiving grocery deliveries
- Advising the Head Cook of supply needs and equipment issues
- Sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing kitchen tables and counters
Housekeeping duties:
- Removing garbage and dusting shelving
- Sweeping and vacuuming mudrooms, hallways, and entrances
- Monitoring guest room changeovers and reporting cleaned items
- Cleaning bathrooms daily, including floors, toilets, showers, sinks, and mirrors
- Replenishing paper products and soap
- Maintaining tidy laundry and linen storage areas
Qualifications & requirements:
- 3–5 years of professional cooking and baking experience (asset)
- Food Safe Level 1 certification
- WHMIS certification
- Strong English communication skills (spoken and written)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
- Ability to lift up to 20 kg and complete 10–12 hour shifts
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing and criminal record check
Employment type: Full-time
Compensation: $22.00–$25.00 per hour (overtime available)
Shifts: 10–12 hour shifts (day or evening)
