Job Description:
Acden Environment is hiring an experienced Operations Manager to oversee waste, recycling, and landfill services at a remote industrial site near Fort McMurray. This is a permanent fly-in/fly-out role with camp accommodations and employer-provided travel.

Reporting into senior leadership, this role is accountable for operational performance, client service delivery, compliance, and people leadership. The mandate is straightforward: drive efficiency, maintain regulatory compliance, and lead a high-performing operations team in a safety-sensitive environment.

This is a camp-based FIFO position with meals, accommodations, and transportation provided.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing proactive operational leadership across site-based waste and recycling services

Leading operations teams to meet client service levels, KPIs, productivity targets, and cost controls

Collaborating directly with client operations to identify efficiencies, productivity gains, and optimization opportunities

Ensuring compliance with Acden corporate policies, client requirements, employment standards, and HSE programs

Overseeing coaching, training, and development of direct reports in alignment with succession planning

Maintaining compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards

Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with Alberta legislation, site policies, and safety regulations

What you bring:

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree (required)

Diploma in Project Management with 6+ years of leadership experience or 8+ years of leadership experience

Proven ability to manage KPIs tied to efficiency, productivity, and cost control

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Energy Safety Canada CSO (or equivalent safety orientations as outlined by the employer)

High-level organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

Physical capability to meet industrial site demands, including extended standing, walking, climbing, and confined space access

Assets (nice to have):

Professional Engineering designation

Senior management experience in the waste management industry

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and SAP
