Job Description:
Apprentice Welders support structural steel fabrication and welding activities on large-scale industrial construction projects. Working under the direction of journeyperson welders and supervisors, you’ll assist with pipe preparation, fitting support, rigging, and quality tracking while maintaining Strike’s high standards for safety and workmanship.

This role is designed for apprentices who take their trade seriously and are focused on building strong technical foundations in a disciplined, safety-driven environment.

This is a fly-in/fly-out camp-based role at the Mount Bracey Compressor Station near Prince George. Meals, accommodations, and travel are provided, along with shift-based travel pay and camp retention incentives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting welders and fitters with fitting and welding activities
  • Gathering pipe and fittings for carbon and stainless steel fabrication
  • Cleaning and preparing pipe and fittings for fitting and welding
  • Cutting and prepping pipe for fabrication
  • Rigging and hoisting completed pipe spools for loading
  • Recording and tracking heat numbers on pipe and fittings for quality control
  • Supporting safe, organized, and efficient work areas
