Job Description:
Mine Planning Engineers play a core role in driving safe, reliable, and cost-effective mining operations at oil sands sites. Embedded within the Albian Mine Technical team, this role supports the evaluation, development, and execution of integrated mine plans across short, mid, and long-range horizons.

You’ll work cross-functionally with Mine Operations, Geotechnical Engineering, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Mine Technical Services to ensure mine plans are executable, optimized, and aligned with regulatory and operational requirements. The mandate is clear: disciplined planning, strong cost stewardship, and operational outcomes that scale.

This is a fly-in/fly-out camp-based role with meals, accommodations, and travel provided. Camp facilities are first-class and designed for long-rotation comfort and productivity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and communicating detailed mine plans and schedules to support safe and efficient operations
  • Stewarding mine plans in alignment with regulatory reporting requirements
  • Collaborating with operations and technical teams to deliver optimized, feasible mine designs
  • Developing planning and execution packages for mining and infrastructure projects
  • Maintaining and optimizing mine planning and budgeting models
  • Monitoring and reporting mine performance against key performance indicators
  • Supporting mine projects, costing, and technology initiatives as required
