Job Description:
Cameco is hiring a Senior Mine Engineer (Long-Range Planner) for the McArthur River Mine in northern Saskatchewan, the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. This fly-in/fly-out role reports to the Chief Mine Engineer and leads the development of long-term underground mine plans and schedules, focusing on development and production strategies. The position also supports technical studies, ensures alignment with site objectives, and oversees the transition from long-term planning to short-term execution.

Key responsibilities include designing long-range production and development plans, managing reserves, identifying risks and mitigation strategies, fostering strong cross-departmental engagement, and supervising mine technicians supporting long-range planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mine, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering
  • 7+ years of mine engineering experience (4+ in mine planning, underground preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, eligible for APEGS registration
  • Strong experience with Deswik mine design and scheduling
  • Broad knowledge of mine engineering functions (short-term planning, ventilation, ground control, production support) an asset
  • Proven communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills
