Job Description:
Wesdome Gold Mines is hiring a Mill Trainer for the Eagle River Complex near Wawa, ON. Reporting to the Health & Safety Supervisor, this role will design, deliver, and monitor training for mill operators in circuits such as crushing, grinding, leaching, dewatering, and Merrill-Crowe Zinc. The Mill Trainer will ensure operators are properly trained, evaluated for competency, and compliant with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver classroom and on-the-job training for mill operators
- Monitor operator activity and evaluate trainee performance
- Maintain up-to-date training records for mill personnel
- Support HS&E programs, inspections, and audits
- Conduct incident investigations and recommend corrective actions
- Provide site/mill inductions and act as Designated Employer Representative
- Contribute to continuous improvement in safety and training programs
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ milling experience
- Experience in health & safety roles; knowledge of Reg. 854 / OH&S Act Ontario
- Supervisory and “Train the Trainer” experience required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of the Merrill-Crowe process an asset
- Equipment experience (skid steer, loaders, excavators, EWPs, forklifts) preferred
- Mine Rescue / ERT experience considered an asset
Work Conditions:
- Day shift, 7/7 or 14/14 rotation
