Job Description:
Agnico Eagle is hiring an Assistant Superintendent, Underground Operations, for the Meliadine Mine in Nunavut. This fly-in fly-out role is responsible for managing day-to-day underground operations, building a strong safety culture, and ensuring efficient use of people and equipment to achieve production goals.

Key responsibilities include directing underground crews through subordinate supervisors, coordinating production with engineering, maintenance, and procurement teams, reviewing and analyzing production performance, managing costs and budgets, leading safety investigations, mentoring and developing staff, and recommending improvements to procedures and equipment.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (or related discipline) and at least 10 years of underground mining operations leadership experience. Strong knowledge of mining practices, procedures, and regulations, as well as excellent Microsoft Office skills, are required.

This position offers full camp accommodations, meals, and charter flights. Compensation is salaried with competitive benefits.
