FIFO Shift Schedule: 15 days on / 13 days off, site-based camp role at Eskay Creek Mine (Northwestern BC)
Job Description:
Skeena Gold + Silver is hiring a Technical Services Manager to lead the on-site Technical Services team at the Eskay Creek Revitalization Project. Reporting to the General Manager, this role oversees mine engineering, survey, mine planning, production geology, and technical support functions including earthworks, QC, and scheduling. The position also leads the implementation of Fleet Management systems and HPGPS mining equipment.
This is a senior leadership role critical to ensuring Skeena’s mining goals are achieved, regulatory compliance is met, and selective mining strategies are optimized for recovery and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team (engineers, geologists, surveyors, mine dispatch, QC, planners, etc.)
- Act as designate statutory mine manager in the GM’s absence
- Implement and manage mining technology (Fleet Dispatch, wireless networks, HPGPS equipment)
- Oversee short- and medium-term mine planning, cost forecasts, and annual budgets
- Collaborate with corporate technical services on life-of-mine planning
- Track mine plan compliance and document/approve deviations
- Lead mine design, production scheduling, and selective mining strategies
- Ensure compliance with HSRC, EGBC, and permit requirements
- Oversee earthworks, drill/blast, dump planning, and grade control execution
- Manage site survey, as-built records, and file management
- Support ML/ARD programs, geological modeling, and technical data integrity
- Provide oversight of site assay lab priorities
- Develop and track KPIs, budgets, and performance optimization initiatives
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align technical strategies with business objectives
- Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers
- Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reports to senior leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field
- P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (required)
- Mine Supervisor or Shiftboss certification (asset)
Experience & Skills:
- 12+ years progressive mining experience, including technical and leadership roles
- Strong foundation in mine planning, geology, geotechnical engineering, and survey
- Experience in open-pit operations and start-up/operational readiness
- Proficient in Deswik or similar mine planning software
- Knowledge of selective mining, grade control, and HPGPS systems
- Strong understanding of NI 43-101 reporting and regulatory frameworks
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent project management, communication, and decision-making skills
- Collaborative leadership style with executive and operational teams
- Experience in remote/FIFO environments
