Job Description:
Skeena Gold + Silver is seeking a Mine Placement Planner to join the Eskay Creek Revitalization Project in northwest BC. Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer, this role is responsible for scheduling, planning, and coordinating material movements for both construction and operations. You’ll develop dig maps, design dump phases, reconcile survey data, and generate detailed daily/weekly operational schedules. The position plays a key role in aligning field execution with short-term and long-range mine plans while ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop short-term placement plans from long-range objectives; compile/distribute dig maps
  • Coordinate with survey and operations teams to stake dumps, plan work fronts, and distribute schedules
  • Design phased dump layouts, track pit material data, and support forecasting and reconciliation
  • Provide input on scheduling, budgeting, and progress tracking with operations and project controls
  • Support technical services with drill/blast metrics, survey requests, and ARD data tracking
  • Act as primary owner of dump management, integrating pit planning with construction fronts
  • Champion safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across all mining activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Civil, or Construction Engineering, or diploma in Civil/Mining/Geomatics
  • 3–4 years’ mining or heavy civil construction experience
  • Proven experience in dump design, dam construction, and/or drill & blast
  • Proficiency in MS Office, GIS (ArcGIS), and 3D mine modeling (AutoCAD, Deswik)
  • Experience with fleet dispatch and HPGPS equipment
  • Project management and start-up project experience considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills
