Job Description:
Newmont is hiring a Project Trainer for the Red Chris Mine in Northern BC. This fly-in/fly-out role includes camp accommodations, meals, recreation facilities, transportation from hubs across BC and Alberta, and a competitive annual salary of $83,400–$111,180. The Project Trainer will design and deliver competency-based training programs to support the Mill Expansion, Block Caving Project, and auxiliary equipment operations. Duties include developing and implementing training packages, conducting needs analysis, mentoring employees, maintaining compliance records, and embedding safety and ESG principles across all training initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mining Engineering, or related field (or equivalent mining training experience)
  • Minimum 7 years training experience, including 3 years in project-based or heavy equipment-focused roles
  • Strong knowledge of mining operations, auxiliary/mobile equipment, and mill processes
  • Experience with e-learning, VR, or simulators for training delivery
  • Knowledge of mining safety legislation, risk management, and emergency response
  • CTDP or similar instructional design certification preferred
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol testing
