Job Description:
Dexterra Group is hiring a First Cook for its Goose Lake camp in Nunavut. This is a fly-in/fly-out role with camp accommodations and meals included. Responsibilities include preparing a wide variety of meals, ensuring consistency in food quality and safety, assisting with menu planning and inventory, supporting other kitchen roles as needed, and maintaining sanitation standards. This position also requires providing first aid support if needed, as it is designated safety sensitive.
Requirements:
- BC Occupational First Aid Level 3 or Advanced First Aid (certificate required)
- 5+ years hospitality/food service experience
- Culinary Arts diploma (minimum 2-year program); Red Seal preferred
- 1+ year Sous Chef or camp cooking experience
- FoodSafe Level I (advanced food safety/HACCP an asset)
- Strong knowledge of all kitchen operations (hot/cold kitchens, bakery, butchery, banquets)
- Ability to pass mandatory WHMIS with 100%
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)
