Job Description:
Cameco is hiring a Senior Mine Engineer to join the McArthur River Mine team in northern Saskatchewan, the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. This fly-in/fly-out position supports safe and efficient mining of a complex orebody through detailed planning, technical guidance, and leadership of a small technical team.
Responsibilities include developing mine plans and schedules, supporting ventilation and ground control strategies, overseeing surveying, providing technical direction for drilling and blasting, and mentoring staff. This role plays a key part in meeting production targets while maintaining a strong safety-first culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in geological, geotechnical, or mine engineering
- 7–12 years of progressive hard rock or underground engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, eligible for APEGS registration
- Expertise with Deswik software for mine design, drilling, blasting, and scheduling
- Proven leadership experience with technical teams and complex projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Long hole mining and ventilation design experience considered assets
