FIFO Shift Schedule: 7/7 (12-hour shifts)
Job Description:
Redpath is hiring Development Shift Bosses for the North Mine Project in Sudbury, ON. This role supervises mining crews on a day-to-day basis, ensuring safe and efficient completion of development activities while supporting site production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, direct, and coordinate daily crew activities
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to review safety and production concerns
- Provide task-specific safety and job training to employees
- Ensure all employees are trained and competent to operate assigned equipment
- Schedule and plan work activities, monitor conditions, and report hazards
- Maintain log books, progress reports, and incident/accident reports
- Ensure compliance with mine safety regulations and Redpath policies
- Schedule equipment for repair and ensure readiness for preventative maintenance
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Promote company goals, objectives, and safety values
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ underground hard rock mining experience, with 5 years at a supervisory level
- Ontario Underground Hard Rock Common Core – Full Basic (or equivalent)
- Ontario Underground Hard Rock Front Line Supervisor Common Core (or equivalent)
- Experience in conventional mining (jackleg/long tom headings)
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Working knowledge of production equipment and OH&S mine regulations
- Basic computer skills
